Sullivan Fire and St. Clair Fire were called to westbound Interstate 44 at the 231 mile marker for a tractor-trailer fire on Sunday,August 1st. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about 10 minutes after arriving on the scene at 8:31 p.m. The fire caused westbound I-44 to be closed for some time while crews extinguished the fire and cleared the roadway of debris. The driver of the tractor-tailer was not injured and the cause of the fire was undetermined. Photo by James Johnson
