UPDATE 3: Luke Mayer ran for a 45-yard touchdown with 10:40 left in the game to give Sullivan a 26-12 lead.

Lucas Budnik subsequently hit Phillip Wright for a 45-yard touchdown pass 19 seconds later.

Budnik completed another touchdown pass to Wright with 2:38 left, but the Bearcats could not get the ball back.

Both Mayer and Wright had four touchdowns to lead their respective teams.

UPDATE 2: Sullivan is hanging on 20-12 after the third quarter.

The offense has yet to get a first down in the second half. They have now fumbled six times and lost three.

The defense made two goal line stands to preserve the lead.

UPDATE: Mayer scored twice in the second quarter, giving Sullivan a 20-6 lead at the half.

Mayer already has 116 yards on the ground.

Dane Paneitz has picked up 43 yards.

Sullivan’s defense has limited the Bearcats to just 54 yards of offense. Hermann has five yards rushing.

HERMANN - The Sullivan Eagles lead 7-6 at the end of the first quarter at Hermann.

Luke Mayer broke off a 73-yard touchdown run on Sullivan’s second play of the game.

The Eagles have picked off Hermann quarterback Lucas Budnik once, with Mayer making the takeaway.

Hermann scored 49 seconds after Sullivan’s touchdown with Budnik hitting Phillip Wright for a 26-yard touchdown pass.

Sullivan has fumbled the ball four times and turned the ball over twice.
