A Ste. Genevieve man drowned in the Meramec River on either Wednesday night or Thursday morning, with his body being recovered at approximately 11:30 Thursday morning.

Jonathan Kern, 52, was floating on the Meramec with his friends in kayaks in Leasburg. At an unknown time and location, the victim disappeared. The friends attempted to locate him and called for assistance.
