The man on the motorcycle was 42-year-old Rusty Forester from Leasburg.

The accident occurred as traffic slowed down and Forester struck the rear end of a 2009 Cadillac Escalade driven by Jeffrey E. Gamblin of Collinsville, IL.

Forester was flown to St. John’s Hospital in Creve Couer to be treated.

A motorcycle accident on I-44 brought the eastbound lane to a stop onWednesday afternoon, with the subject being airlifted out.

The accident was called in around 2:30 p.m.
