Missouri’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday

Missouri’s back-to-school sales tax holiday begins Fri., Aug. 6 and runs through Sun., Aug. 8.

People making qualified purchases will not have to pay the state’s 4.225 percent sales tax. City, county and other special district sales taxes will also be waived if those entites are participating in the holiday.

In general, qualified items include clothing less than $100, school supplies not exceeding a total of $50 per purchase, and computers and computer accessories less than $3,500.
