Jewel L. Williams (nee Manion), longtime resident of Sullivan, MO, passed away in Ocala, FL on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the age of 96 years.
Jewel was born on February 16, 1914 in St. Louis, MO to Luther and Leena (nee Helling) Manion, one of four children. She was married to John Williams and to this union two boys and two girls were born.
Jewel loved to tend her flowers and vegetable plants, and was known for growing beautiful roses. She was an accomplished seamstress and repaired many suits and pants in her home.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Miller and husband, Don, of Ocala, FL and Beverly Rucks and husband, Buddy, of Okeechobee, FL; one brother, Harry Manion and wife, Christine, of St. Louis, MO; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Jewel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Gene and Emory Williams; two brothers, Alfred and Maynard Manion; and two grandchildren.
Visitation for Jewel Williams was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO on Sunday, August 15, 2010, between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. with burial on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10 a.m. in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
