Frances Ellen Bott of Sullivan, MO passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the age of 82 years.
Frances was born on January 27, 1928 in Moberly, MO to Lewis Wilson Richards and Zella Edith (Williams) Richards, one of four children. She married John E. Bott on March 29, 1947 in Moberly, MO and to this union five children were born.
Frances was determined to do the best in whatever endeavor she took on and was never afraid of work. She started out as a young lady working in a dairy, spent time with Orchline Trucking out of Moberly, did a stint at the Thrifty Market in Sullivan and working for nearly 30 years in the office of the Sullivan Community Hospital.
All the while she managed her home, especially when John’s job took him out of town for weeks, raised five children and saw that they all grew up knowing Jesus. She volunteered at her church, Temple Baptist, sang regularly as a member of the Templeaires, and was president for a time at the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Before and after retirement, Frances was an active member of almost every activity of her church—Sunday school to worship, VBS to missions, choir to the Ball Club. She will be missed by all who ever met her.
She is survived by one daughter, Karen Bott of Sullivan, MO; three sons, Robert D. Bott and wife, Rachel, of Oak Harbor, WA, Lewis Bott and wife, Joanne, of Bourbon, MO and Dennis E. Bott and wife, Donna, of Sullivan, MO; six grandchildren, Christine Neff, Francine Colwell, Jason Bott, Alicia Bott, Robert Bott and John Bott; four great-grandchildren, Adam, Marissa, Ruby and Elliot; other relatives and many friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a daughter, Vickie Bott; and three brothers, Jay R., Howard and Ronald Richards.
Funeral services for Frances Bott were conducted on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church, Sullivan, under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Memorial Cemetery.
