Daniel Austin Schatz of Sullivan, MO passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the age of 19 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Daniel was born on October 13, 1990 in Washington, MO to David and Chara (Cunieo) Schatz. He was a lifelong resident of the Sullivan area, having been raised in Spring Bluff and attending Spring Bluff School. Daniel later attended and graduated from Sullivan High School in 2009 where he excelled in all sports, especially as quarterback on the varsity football team. He then went on to study business and marketing at the University of Missouri in Columbia and also played football for the Mizzou Tigers.
Daniel loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing and many other outdoor activities such as horseback riding and gigging.
He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan and was actively involved with mission trips and the youth group. Daniel made friends easily and was loved by all, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, David and Chara Schatz of Sullivan; one brother, David Schatz, Jr.; three sisters, Devon, Dana and Dailee Schatz, all of the family home; maternal grandparents, Jack and Ann Cunieo of Sullivan and Doris and Joe Hallam of Sullivan; other relatives and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Neil and Sarah Schatz; an uncle, Edward Schatz; and an aunt, Cynthia Lamb.
Visitation was held from 3:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan.
Funeral services for Daniel Schatz were conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan with Pastor Scott Perry officiating. Interment was on the Schatz farm, rural Sullivan, MO.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Daniel Schatz Memorial Fund.
