Colleen Yeargan passed away peacefully from this life with her daughter, Linda, at her side on June 28, 2010 at the Meramec Nursing Center.
She was born to William J. and Edna (Lynn) Coleman on January 18, 1922 in Colton, CA. After graduating from Colton High School, she began a career with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. in San Bernardino, CA; starting as an operator and retiring in 1974 as an assistant traffic operating manager.
She was a member of the San Bernardino Uptown Business Women’s Association and served as treasurer.
In 1943, she met her husband, Ralph, one Sunday and married him the next; a true “love at first sight” story.  They raised three daughters in Colton, CA.
She and her husband made Sullivan their home in 1984.
She is survived by daughters, Colleen Rae Shaffer and husband from Sullivan, Janet Sibole and husband from Morganton, NC, and Linda Angle, who was also her caregiver, from Rosebud, MO; grandchildren, Glenn Shaffer, Jr. from Denver, CO, Dwane Shaffer and wife from Lake Menefee, CA, Justin Trippler and wife from Choctaw, OK, Grey Hawkins, III and wife from Warrensburg, MO, Ralph Hawkins from Bourbon, MO, Valorie Cunningham and husband from Morganton, NC; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a very special neighbor and friend, Rosemary Copeland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years;  siblings, Finis Coleman, Rui Smith, William “Bill” Coleman, Frances Christian, and Corliss “Buck” Coleman; grandson, Kevin Trippler; granddaughter-in-laws, Julie Shaffer and Pam Shaffer; and son-in-law, Jack Angle.
Memorial funeral services were private.
