The USA Softball junior men’s national team coaching staff will conduct a players’ camp prior to the start of the ASA Boys National Tournament in Rolla, MO.
The camp will serve as the beginning of the evaluation process for choosing the athletes who will represent the USA in the 2012 International Softball Federation junior men’s world championship in Parana, Argentina.
The camp will take place on Wed., Aug. 4 at the site of the national tournament, Ber Juan Sportsplex (1100 E. 18th St. – Rolla). Athletes born between Jan. 1, 1993 and Dec. 31, 1996 are eligible to attend.
Catchers will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by pitchers at 9:15 a.m. and all other players at 10:30 a.m. Athletes can expect to receive instruction on pitching, hitting, fielding, base running and the mental approach to fast pitch.

Male pitchers of any age are invited to participate in the morning session and should contact head coach Tim Lyon at timlyon@earthlink.net prior to the clinic.
The USA Softball junior men’s coaching staff consists of head coach Tim Lyon from Utah, assistant coach Scott Standerfer from Illinois and pitching coach Gary Mullican from California. These individuals have been together as a USA Softball staff for about 10 years and have combined for over 60 years of softball playing and coaching experience at the highest levels of male fast pitch.
