Crawford County Sheriff Randy Martin announced that an employee of the sheriff’s department, Hoyt McCann, recently graduated from the Missouri Sheriff’s Academy in Waynesville and received several notable awards.
McCann, 34, of Cuba, is a four-year employee of the department and has been assigned to the jail as a supervisor.
According to the sheriff, “McCann distinguished himself by receiving awards for valedictorian, honor graduate and perfect attendance.”
McCann attended the sheriff’s academy on his personal time and on his days off for the past 10 months while working full time at the jail.
“McCann has always been a top performer for the sheriff’s department and his high achievements have obviously carried over into his academy work,” said Martin. “All of our employees in the jail and sheriff’s department do a great job, but staff members, like McCann, make us stand out even more.”
