County Man Fatally Wounded In Gun Incident

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are still investigating the fatal shooting of a Franklin County man on Wed., June 23 at 4:45 a.m.
According to Sheriff Gary Toelke, deputies responded to a residence in Lake Arrowhead in reference to a victim of a fatal gunshot wound.
Deputies investigating determined that Charles Vanhooser, 32, of the residence, was in a room with his 11-year-old son and his son’s friend.
Mrs. Vanhooser reported that her son came into her room stating that a gun went off in the room.
Vanhooser stated that she went into the room and found her husband on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
Deputies recovered a .38 caliber revolver that is believed to have been the gun used.
Toelke stated that authorities do not know at this time how the weapon was discharged.
