Maud Merritt

Maud Lucille Merritt of Bourbon, MO passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 a1t the age of 93 years.
Maud was born on February 20, 1917 to the late Oscar and Josie Ann (Crawford) Gensler in Booneville, MO. She remained in Booneville until the age of 18, relocating to Bourbon in 1955.
Mrs. Merritt was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing her own clothes, quilting and shopping.
She was a Christian and attended Faith Mission Baptist Church in Bourbon.
She is survived by one son, Ronnie Merritt and friend, Sue Jost, of Steelville, MO; four daughters, Doris Lakaner and husband, Edward, of Bourbon, MO, Loretta Miller of Gerald, MO, Helen Eoff and husband, Leroy, and Alice Valley and husband, Louis, all of Bourbon, MO; one brother, Joe Gensler and wife, Wilda, of Potosi, MO; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by two sons, Wilbert Merritt and Donald Merritt, in infancy; a son-in-law, Charles Miller; one brother, William Gensler; two sisters, Maryetta Bridgeman and Edna Bridgeman; and her grandson, Glenn Miller.
Funeral services for Maud Merritt were conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from the Eaton Bourbon Chapel with Brother John Beckett officiating. Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery.
