Betty J. “Bobbie” Boehm of Sullivan, MO passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the age of 79 years.
Bobbie, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on January 25, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to Daniel Byrd and Mildred Cecilia (Hornberger) Grimes. On June 17, 1961, she was united in marriage to Walter A. Boehm and in 1966 came to Sullivan to make their home.
Bobbie was an avid bowler and had won many trophies and awards. She also enjoyed Bingo and going to the riverboat casinos with her friends.
Bobbie was known as always being a friend when you needed one, who was good-hearted, and a devoted housewife and mother.
Bobbie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan.
She is survived by her husband, Walter A. Boehm of the family home; a daughter, Cathy Boehm of Sullivan, MO; one brother, James Grimes and wife, Joani, of St. Louis, MO; two sisters; Florence Webb and husband, Jerry, of Wright City, MO and Mary Schultz of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Brennan Boehm and Michelle Hearn; three great-grandchildren, Colton and Allie Hearn and Celina Boehm; two sisters-in-law, Jeannie and Dorothy Grimes; a brother-in-law, Bob Schultz; other relatives and many friends.
Along with her parents, Bobbie was also preceded in death by three brothers, John Hornberger, Danny and Richard Grimes.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, with the Rev. Father Paul Telken officiating. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO.
