Kevin Jordan of Ballwin and Helena Thoms of St Clair are the latest winners for the International Bowling Karaoke Superstar Contest held at Spare Time Lanes & Lounge on Apr. 9. Preliminary bi-weekly contests are held at Spare Time Lanes & Lounge in St Clair at 9 p.m. on Friday night. The next qualification night is Apr. 23 and will be sponsored by Lewis Café located at 145 S Main Street in downtown St Clair.
As many as 40,000 singers from all over the US, Canada and Puerto Rico compete in this major karaoke contest. The contest is run exclusively in bowling center and culminates at the international finals at Bowl Expo in Las Vegas. Weekly winners from the local center qualify for the local finals which will take place on May 15. Local finals winner will receive a trip to Las Vegas that includes airfare, hotel accommodations and $300 spending cash for the international semi-finals and a chance to compete in the international finals.
Top winner in Las Vegas receives $5,000 and performs prior to the featured act at Club Xpo. Second place receives $2,000 and third place $1,000.
