Two meets, two wins for the Lady Eagles track and field team.
On Thursday, Sullivan dominated at the Union Quad against Sullivan, Union and St. Clair. The Lady Eagles had 119 points, beating out second-place Union by 35. The Lady Wildcats amassed 84 points. St. Clair’s girls had 43 points and New Haven finished with 15 points.
Sullivan won 12 events overall.
In the 100-meter dash, sophomore Macy Ritter was first with a time of 13.66. Freshman Emmie Blankenship was fifth with a time of 15.05.
Ritter was first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.62. Senior Taryn Merritt was fourth with a time of 30.26.
In the 400-meter dash, sophomore Bria Bartolotta won first place with a time of 1:05.87. Merritt took fifth place with a time of 1:12.44.
Sophomore Devon Schatz was first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:49.50. Junior Lindsay Miller came in second and had a time of 2:59.13.
Senior Jessie Landwehr and freshman Caitlin Schmidtke were first and second, respectively, in the 3,200-meter run. Landwehr finished in 12:39.90 and Schmidtke finished at 14:04.90.
In the 100-meter hurdles, sophomore Natasha Snavely was first with a time of 19.23. Merritt pulled in a fifth place finish with 19.64.
Senior Chelsea Strauser was second in the 300-meter hurdles, losing by four-tenths of a second to St. Clair’s Kelly Barns. Freshman Alysin Bryan was fourth and Snavely was seventh.
Sullivan’s 4×100-meter relay team was third. The team won first in the 4×200-meter and the 4×400-meter relays while taking second in the 4×800-meter relay.
In the shot put, junior Jarren Blankenship had a distance of 30’’02, good for a third place finish. Junior Kathleen Brueggemann was 10th. Junior Elizabeth Smith, senior Kelcey Bylo and freshman Rachel Lucas were 14th, 15th and 16th, respectively. Emmie Blankenship was 16th.
In the discus, Jarren Blankenship was fourth with a distance of 81’01. Sophomore Nicole Tolliver was seventh. Bylo took eighth, Emmie Blankenship was ninth, Brueggemann was 14th, Smith was 14th and Lucas was 18th.
Ritter and Merritt were first and second, respectively, in the high jump. Both cleared 4’10”. Junior Rachel Mincemeyer was fourth with a jump of 4’8”.
Mincemeyer took first in the pole vault with a height of 8’6”. Sophomore Derika Meier was second with a vault of 6’.
Ritter had her fourth first place finish with a win in the long jump. She had a distance of 14’3”. Strauser was second with a distance of 12’11”. Schatz took seventh, sophomore Micah Weirich was eighth and Jarren Blankenship was ninth.
Bartolotta won first place in the triple jump with a distance of 33’6.50”. Weirich was fourth and Bryan was fifth.
