Tickets are now on sale for the East Central College Theatre Department presentation of “Crazy for You” set for Mar. 18-21.
The musical is directed by Grace Austin with Paula Nolley again serving as music director. “Crazy for You” tells the story of a New York City banker whose dream in life is to be a Broadway star! After ending up in a Nevada mining town that has seen better days, he falls in love with a local girl, convinces the townspeople to put on a show to save their theatre and winds up in a series of crazy adventures with comedy, romance and show stopping musical numbers.
Austin noted that the show includes many familiar songs including “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Embraceable You,” “I Got Rhythm,” “Naughty Baby,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” and “They Can’t Take that Away from Me.”
The show features Tyler Whiteman as Bobby Childs, Terrie Carolan as Polly Baker, Danielle Clapper as Irene, Keith Goers as Bella Zangler, Mike Askins as Lank, Darrell Herron as Everett , Laurie Osseck as Patricia Fodor, and Dave Baylard as Eugene Fodor. Riley Dunn, Ryan Carter and CJ Satterfield portray the Cowboy Trio with Carol Buescher cast as Mrs. Childs.
Rounding out the ensemble are Mike Howard, Rob Compton, Kris Soltys, Josh Joggerst, Eldon Hopp, Dalton Reeves, Joe Brueggemann, Zach Zerna, Heather DeJack, Patty Kellmann, Rita Bub, Mary Hopp, Trish Baker, Hallie, Overschmidt, Lucas Sheets, Adam Mulkey, Gene Withrow, Bethany Herron, Holly Szakal, Kelly McDevitt, Shannon Lefler, Stephanie Lefler, Dani Bruns, Kaitlyn Smith, Gracie Karl, Kati Wunderlich, Bethany Adams, Marielle Klemme, Elin Feldmann, Francine Lindemann, Johanna Mayer, Lindzey Cortner, AnnElise Stratton and Sarah Hopp.
Choreography is under the direction of Adrienne Branson and Christopher Page with costumes by Marci Franklin and lighting design by Alisa Grist. Set design is being handled by Vince Niehaus.
Evening performances are set for Thurs., Mar. 18 through Sat., Mar. 20 at 8 p.m. The Sun., Mar. 21 show will begin at 2 p.m. A special 10:30 a.m. performance is scheduled for Fri., Mar. 19, with tickets at the reduced rate of $3. All shows will be held at the John Edson Anglin Performing Arts Center at the ECC campus in Union.
Austin encourages theatre goers to reserve their tickets soon since previous musicals have sold out. Tickets may be reserved by contacting the Box Office at 636-584-6693. Patrons of the Arts and Season Pass Holders are admitted at no charge, as are ECC students when presenting a current student ID. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
