A 26-year-old man from Oklahoma was shot and killed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol early Tuesday morning.
The incident happened on Interestate 44 around the 200 mile marker. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department initiated a pursuit of the man, which extended into Phelps County. The driver reportedly pulled over, stepped out of his pickup and opened fire. A trooper reportedly fired back, which killed the driver.
No one else was injured and furthers details have yet to be released by the Highway Patrol.
