Frieda Olive (Dollar) Keeney of Sullivan, MO passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the age of 97 years.
Frieda was born on August 3, 1912 in Bourbon, MO to Ehud and Ollie Lea (Pennock) Dollar, one of two daughters. She married Jennings “Jake” Keeney in 1931 in Steelville, MO.
Frieda was a 37-year member of Temple Baptist Church. Her main love was for the Lord and His church. She taught children for many years, both in Sunday school and as an elementary teacher. She loved her dear grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her own. In her last years, while unable to attend church regularly, she was a great prayer warrior. “Pray without ceasing” being a Bible verse she dedicated her life to.
She is survived by a daughter, Gail Short and husband, Charles, of Sullivan, MO; a granddaughter, Deana Schultz and husband, Scott; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Nathan and Brendan; a granddaughter-in-law, Tonya Wicker; other relatives and friends.
Many will greet her in Heaven, among them her parents; her beloved husband, Jake; a sister, Virgie Keeney; and a dear grandson, David Short, who preceded her in death six years ago.
Services for Frieda Keeney were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, MO, with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
The family has requested expressions of sympathy be given to Temple Baptist Church - MRT Fund in Frieda Keeney’s name.
