Dale Smith of Sullivan, MO passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the age of 68 years.
Dale was born in Drury, MO on March 20, 1941 to Hobert and Arvilla (Dewitt) Smith. He had lived in various parts of the country, the majority of which was in the state of Missouri. On February 1, 1964, he was united in marriage to Connie Dotson in Cuba, MO.
Dale was self-employed and operated a timber cutting business. He had a passion for fishing and also enjoyed amateur radio. His family, especially his grandchildren, were his greatest love and pleasure.
Dale was a member of the First Assembly of God of Leasburg and honorably served his country with the National Guard from 1954 to 1962.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the family home; three sons, Wesley Adair and wife, Sheila, of Cuba, MO, Terry Smith of Bourbon, MO and Dale Smith and wife, Sandra, of Bourbon, MO; one daughter, Teresa Slawson and husband, Darrel, of Bourbon, MO; two brothers, Daryl Smith of Licking, MO and Jay Smith of Cuba, MO; one sister, Irene Stricklin of Cuba, MO; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Finley.
Visitation for Dale Smith was held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO.
Funeral services were conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, with Pastor Donald Vaughn officiating. Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery.
