What began as a subdued start to their 10th wedding anniversary ended with a joyous trip to Jefferson City.  Vickie and Randy Littrell of Cuba went to Ozark Oil, 90 Truman in Newburg, to get some lunch and discuss their plans for the weekend.  A trip to Tennessee was planned, but the tax return money that was intended to pay for it was not on time. While they dined, Vickie decided to purchase a $3 “Wheel of Fortune®” Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket.
“I bought the ticket and he scratched it,” recalled Vickie at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City.
The ticket turned out to be worth $5,000, and it settled the issue of how they would pay for their weekend.
“‘Marauder’ was our lucky word,” said Randy, indicating the word they spelled out to win the $5,000 prize.
According to Randy, Vickie verified the win with the sales clerk, and told him, at which point he “let out a whoop!”
The money will be spent on their kids, will help pay bills and will also help finance their intended celebration in Nashville, including a trip to the “Grand Ole Opry.”
“It’s a blessing,” said Vickie.
