County Filings Open In Crawford County

Filings opened for county elections last week and two challengers have filed for Presiding Commissioner Ed Worley’s seat.
John Hewkin, Commissioner of District 2 in Crawford County, filed for Presiding Commissioner, as did Leo Sanders.
As of press time, Worley has not filed for reelection. He was selected as Presiding Commissioner in 2003.
Hewkin was appointed to office in 2008.
Associate Probate Circuit Judge Scott Bernstein filed for reelection and is currently unopposed.
Public Administrator Franky Todd is pursuing the Circuit Court Clerk position, currently held by Rhonda Jurgens. Todd was elected as Public Administrator in 2004. Jurgens was elected in 2006.
Connie Smith filed for reelection as county clerk, a position she’s held since 1995.
Kim Cook filed for the Recorder’s office, held by Sandy Cook. Cook has held the position since 2007.
Sid Pearson filed for reelection as the county’s Prosecuting Attorney. Pearson has been in office since 1999.
Jessica Easler filed for reelection as County Treasurer. Easler was elected in 2007.
County Collector Linda Branson is also running for reelection.
