The 2010-2011 football seasons just got a lot more interesting.
MSHSAA’s new district football assignments were released Friday morning and the Sullivan Eagles are on the move to Class 4.
They will join District 9 with fellow Four Rivers Conference teams, Union, Pacific and St. Clair, which promises to make for an entertaining autumn.
St. Francis Borgia was also moved up to Class 4 and will join a district with St. Charles West, St. Dominic and Warrenton.
The district and playoff format remains the same. The winner of the round-robin tournament will play the opposing district’s runner-up in the state playoffs.
The District 9 winners will face a school from District 10 and a trip west. Hillcrest, Marshfield, Republic and West Plains comprise that district.
District 8, which includes Borgia, will be grouped with District 7 that includes Duchesne, Jennings, St. Charles and Westminster Christian Academy.
Other area teams stayed put. Owensville will be in Class 3 District 7 with Osage, St. James and Salem. They are paired with teams in north central Missouri. Class 3 District 8 is Boonville, California, Eldon and Versailles.
Hermann remains in Class 2 and will be in District 9 with Blair Oaks, Montgomery County and South Callaway. Cuba is also in Class 2 and will join Houston, Liberty (Mountain View) and Willow Springs.
