Alderman Bob Gargus was not present at the Board of Aldermen meeting on Tues., Jan. 19, but Mayor Leonard Armstrong said that Gargus had requested a proposal from Mid-State Paving on the work and costs of repaving approximately two and six-tenths miles of Old Highway 66.
The estimated total cost will be $75,000 to complete the resurfacing. Mid-State will provide sweeping before the road is sealed. They will also provide trucks, a self-propelled chipper, pneumatic tire roller and labor to cover the oil.
The oil will have to supplied and applied by others. Bourbon will also have the task of providing traffic control.
Mid-State will provide the cover aggregate and the city will have the choice of dark gray or red trap rock. That will cost $27,013.
Bourbon will have to figure the cost of oil into this project. Armstrong said at the meeting he is working on the cost estimates and that the city will need .35 gallons of CRS2P added to the oil mixture per gallon. This will be an estimated $48,000.
The board will further discuss it at their next meeting.
