Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of the Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T. project that was conducted on Thurs., Jan. 21 in Franklin County on Highway 100.
During the eight-hour project, eight troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zone on Highway 100, east of Washington.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 76 summonses and 63 warnings were issued. Of those summonses, 11 individuals were cited for exceeding the speed limit, eight for no seat belt, four for following too closely, two for no insurance, and one for driving while revoked or suspended.
In addition, 43 individuals were cited for other non-moving violations and seven arrests were made for misdemeanor warrants. During the eight-hour project, 82 vehicles were stopped.
“This operation was a complete success and it gives us a good start for the new year,” said Capt. Johnson. “Please obey the reduced speed limits and be attentive while driving through construction zones
