A quick response by Sullivan firefighters helped to save a mobile home on Saturday, February 6 which caught fire at 6:28 p.m. at 101 Montgomery Circle in the Village of Oak Grove.
Firefighters were called to the home of Karie Bocanegra for the fire and arrived on the scene within five minutes at 6:33 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find extensive smoke and fire coming from under the mobile home.
Thirteen firefighters, using four different apparatus, brought the fire under control at 7:39 p.m. saving the structure.
According to Sullivan Fire captain, Gary Midyett, the home received damage to the underskirting and insulation of the home and moderate smoke damage inside the home, but the structure remained intact.
The cause of the fire is still being determined but appears to have started from lent buildup in a dryer vent.
