A new campaign launches offering Missouri consumers the chance to learn more about their food and register for the opportunity to win free groceries for a year. Now through Apr. 11, Missourians can visit www.FarmersFeedUS.org, sign up for a chance to win a year’s worth of groceries* and meet five featured farmers along the way.
“This is a great opportunity for farmers and consumers,” said Rob Korff, a corn grower from Norborne, MO, board member for the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council and one of the five featured farmers on the website. “We can share what we do for consumers—how we produce safe, nutritious, affordable food for their families—while giving them the chance to reduce their grocery bill.”
Highlighted on the “Farmers Feed US” website, Korff and other featured farmers discuss their farms and their families as they lead consumers through the registration process.  Afterward, consumers can take an online tour of the Korff family farm to get a better understanding of how corn farmers produce the nation’s top crop.
Other participating farmers on www.FarmersFeedUS.org provide insight into beef, dairy, swine and soybean operations.
Throughout the 90-day campaign, consumers can enter daily by visiting each of the five farmers—meaning any Missouri resident can sign up five times a day.  Interested individuals can also interact with the featured farmers and other Missouri producers through social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
“Missouri farmers have a great story to tell and this is one way to talk directly with consumers,” said Korff.  “We want people to understand how we are working each and every day to deliver food to their tables, while caring for our families, our land and our communities.”
In addition to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council, participating Missouri agriculture groups include the Missouri Pork Association, Missouri Beef Industry Council, Missouri Dairy Growth Council, Missouri Soybean Association, Midwest Dairy Association, FCS Financial, Missouri Agribusiness Association (MO-AG), The Missouri Egg Council, Missouri Cattlemen’s Association, MFA, Inc., Monsanto, St. Louis Agribusiness Club and the Kansas City Agribusiness Council.
A similar program was successfully completed in Ohio, is ongoing in Michigan and will also begin today in Indiana. To learn more about the “Farmers Feed US” giveaway, visit www.FarmersFeedUS.org. For more information on Missouri’s corn producers, click on www.mocorn.org.
