Mary Alice Kragh of Sullivan, MO, formerly of Bourbon, passed away at Meramec Nursing Center on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the age of 77 years.
Alice, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on June 24, 1932 in Leasburg, MO to Herb and Tessie (Oliver) Eaton. She was raised in the Steelville area and later graduated from Bourbon High School. Alice had the honor of being one of Bourbon’s first May Queens. She enjoyed baking and cooking and especially collecting pins and brooches. She was the office manager of the former Sullivan Community Hospital and later retired from there. Alice was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary.
On August 19, 1950, she was married to Andy Eugene Kragh at Concordia Lutheran Church of Bourbon, of which she was a long-time devoted member.
She is survived by a daughter, Melinda Carbone and husband, Jack, of St. Peters, MO; one brother, Charles Eaton and wife, Janet, of the state of California; one sister, Shirley Miller and husband, Roger, of Bourbon, MO; two grandchildren, Amy Carbone-Scott and husband, Jody, and Tony Carbone and wife, Jenny; two great-grandchildren, Luca Carbone and Sophia Scott; one stepgranddaughter, Kate Scott; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; two children in their infancy, David and Vicki Kragh; two sisters, Betty Summers and Lucille Stephens; a nephew, Steve Summers; and a niece, Nancy Summers.
Visitation for Mrs. Alice Kragh was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from the Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, 301 Sappington Bridge Road in Sullivan.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, MO, with Pastor Patrick Runk officiating. Interment was in Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg, MO.
