Elections for Bourbon city council ended on Jan. 19 and the races for mayor and aldermen have been set.
For mayor, voters will choose between incumbent Leonard Armstrong or the former mayor, Mary Heywood.
Armstrong has served as Bourbon’s mayor since October 2006 and won re-election bids in 2007 and 2008.
Heywood was mayor from 1997 to 2006, when she lost to the late Ed Boero.
Ward I Alderman Mark Hilse filed to retain his seat on Tuesday. Hilse has held the seat since winning against Danielle Rosemann in 2006.
Hilse will be challenged by Gene Kulaga, who made an unsuccessful bid for mayor in 2007.
James Stanley Bell, Sr. will run unopposed in Ward II.
Nobody filed for the city collector’s position and there will be a proposition on the ballot that will allow the board to appoint a collector.
