Barb Condren, a volunteer with Mid Ozark CASA, was honored as one of 12 statwide nominees for the Missouri CASA Volunteer of the Year Award for 2009.
Condren is serving on her fourth case, which involves three children who are all living in different foster homes in different parts of the state.  She travels to visit each child, talks to all the professionals involved and tries to be a link between the siblings. The juvenile judge has complimented her court reports which are used as a training tool for other volunteers.
As a member of the Bourbon Quilt Club, Condren encourages the club to make special care packages to donate to Children’s Division and CASA. Mid Ozark CASA is very grateful for her efforts and proud of her state recognition.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are trained volunteers who mentor abused and/or neglected children who are in the court system. Mid Ozark CASA, located in Cuba, MO serves the 42nd Circuit Court.  Call Janet Jones or Mary Heywood at 573-677-2022 for more information.
