medlin-texas-deerCole Medlin, age 14 and a freshman at Sullivan High School, shot this Mainframe 13-point buck with three abnormal points, 16 total points, in LaSalle County, Texas, approximately 90 miles south of San Antonio, on Dec. 2 from a homemade ground blind; shot at 200 yards with a .300 WSM.
The buck grosses 184” in the Boone and Crockett scoring system (not counting abnormal points). Will net score in the mid 170s.
It is the largest typical whitetail taken on this free ranging (non-high fence) ranch in the five generations of current ownership; and will make the all-time Boone and Crockett record book. Less than one in ten thousand whitetail bucks make the all-time book.
