Ralph Arthur Comb, Sr., age 76, of Bourbon, MO (formerly of Fredericktown, MO) passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the LifeCare Center in Sullivan, MO.
He was born on November 1, 1933 in St. Louis, MO, a son of George Arthur and Ruby (Simpson) Combs. On November 1, 1969 in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to Mary Hale Menteer, who survives at the home.
Others surviving include: son, Ralph Combs, Jr. of Bourbon; stepsons, David Menteer, Richard Menteer and Mark Menteer, all of Fredericktown and James Menteer of Conyers, GA; stepdaughters, Brenda Menteer Clark of Canton, GA, Carol Rogers of Park Hills and Mary Angela Francis of Billings, MT; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
His parents and brother, Clifford Combs, preceded him in death.
Mr. Combs was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked for the Pea Ridge Iron Ore Co., Inc. in Sullivan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying, and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bourbon.
Visitation for Ralph Combs, Sr. was held from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, MO, www.wilson-funeral-home.com.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2009 at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. James Austin officiating.
Interment was at the Higdon Cemetery near Fredericktown with full military honors.
