Fixing ditches on Bluebird Lane in Leasburg, an item that has popped up on the board agenda a couple of times, looks like it will be resolved.
Trustee Nicky Phillips, who ran the board meeting on Thursday night in chairperson Kathy Byrd’s absence, reported findings from another absent trustee, Kris Knight, that there is a crushed culvert on Bluebird Lane on one side and no ditches on another side that is causing water to build up.
It was proposed that they get a grader to scoop out a ditch. Jared Boast told the board that they should ask the county road crews to peel the shoulder back and make a ditch that will be big enough to collect running water.
Phillips thought that the process might take just a half-hour to an hour, but trustee Kris Knight and Boast both said that the process of scooping out a ditch along the road would be a lot longer.
The board did not announce when they would start the process.
