It could be another 30 to 60 days, but the Leasburg well project is close to getting started.
A few weeks ago, the village finally received the money for the project and were informed by Chris Boone of Cochran Engineering that the plans, specs and designs were very close to being finished.
The information has been submitted by Cochran to the Department of Natural Resources and the USDA. The village is now awaiting a construction permit that Nicky Phillips said last Tuesday night would be granted in the next month or two.
When construction begins has not yet been determined. Phillips said that the next step in the process will be bids, but did not state when they would start announcing them.
A month ago, the board was under the impression that it would take 120 days after getting everything approved that construction could finally begin. Jared Boast recommended that they hold off construction until spring when severe weather cannot cause delaysLeasburg.
