Jetty O’Neal of Bourbon, MO passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the age of 80 years.
Jetty was born on September 23, 1929 in Ellington, MO to the late William and Olive (Turner) Hasty. On August 30, 1947, she was united in marriage to Stanley O’Neal and in 1961 came to the Sullivan area to make their home.
Jetty was a member of the First Assembly of God in Leasburg, MO and was a faithful servant to her Lord. She had taught Sunday school for several years and was loved by all. She cared for people and would often give the produce from her garden to the residents at the Senior Citizens home.
Jetty’s family was important to her as well as her extended family and friends.
She was a member and Noble Grand of the Sullivan Rebekah Lodge, Chapter 105, was an accomplished singer, and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley O’Neal, of the family home; two sons, Larry O’Neal and wife, Teresa, of Centertown, MO and Jesse Martin of Pearl River, LA; two daughters, Peggy Voisey of Cuba, MO and Sandra Fisher and husband, Rick, of Cuba, MO; two brothers, Utah Beers of Leasburg, MO and Dale Beers of Miller, MO; one sister, Willie Marie Williams of Park Hills, MO; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Jetty was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia O’Neal; one grandchild, Jennifer; two brothers, Jordan and David Hasty; and two sisters, Edith Hurt, infant sisters, Eulah and Beulah Hasty, and Maggie Dawson.
Visitation for Mrs. Jetty O’Neal was held after 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Southside Chapel in Sullivan. Rebekah Lodge memorial services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home under the auspices of Sullivan Chapter #319.
Funeral services were conducted at 12 noon on Monday, October 26, 2009 from the Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, MO, with Pastor Don Vaughn officiating. Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, MO.
