CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) will hold a Trivia night on Nov. 7 at the Recklein Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.
The CASA volunteers are headed up by acting executive director Mary Heywood and program director Janet Jones.
According to Barb Condren, CASA lost its financing and had to move to smaller offices and nearly closed up; but since the program is important, they have regrouped. They are a partner to the administrators and social workers at Children’s Division, who are understaffed and overworked with cases.
Condren said that they attended a conference sponsored by Missouri CASA and they have been re-energized to grow their chapter and continue working on behalf of the Crawford County children that are currently in foster care.
The Trivia night will cost $10 per person and they are looking for 8-to-10 members for each team. They urge anyone interested to think of a team name and bring a sign for their table.
A $100 prize will be given to the winner. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 drawing.
To sign up or donate something to the silent auction, contact Heywood at 573-677-2022, at the CASA office, 573-259-0397, or Condren at 573-732-4773.
