Advantage In-Home Services, South Church St., is one of the newest businesses to locate in Sullivan. The business opened in Sullivan following the acquisition of Elder Helpers.
Co-owner Ted Mahon was at the Sullivan facility on Thursday for a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce.
The business is family- owned and operated and recently purchased Elder Helpers on August 8, 2009. Advantage has been operating in Missouri and Illinois since 1979 and is based in St. Louis.
“We were able to purchase Elder Helpers, which made it one of our biggest acquisitions,” said Mahon. “We now have offices in Missouri in Sullivan, Hillsboro, Rolla, Potosi, Farmington, St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City as well as offices in Chicago, Peoria and Edwardsville, Illinois.”
The Sullivan branch employs some 35 people with over 70 clients at the present time.
“We provide homecare services with nurses up to eight hours a day to help keep people at home and out of nursing homes that includes helping them with meals, cleaning and personal assistance,” said Mahon.
Their services include wound care, IV infusion therapy, diabetes management, medication setup and administration, health assessments, homemaker chores, personal care, light housekeeping, bath visits and assist with daily living activities.
These services are provided by private duty nurses, skilled visits and unskilled visit personnel.
