The perfect season came to an end on Friday night, as Union defeated Sullivan 39-2.
Union dominated from start to finish, even though Sullivan forced three turnovers and recorded their third safety of the season that seemed to send a jolt into the team and the crowd.
But the Wildcats’ passing game was just too much. John Kopplemann, out with a dislocated shoulder, was missed on defense. Union had over 400 yards through the air.
Ryan Hewkin was back at quarterback for the Eagles and 55 yards passing.
Sullivan takes on Pacific next Friday night, then begin district play in Week 8 against Salem.
Full details of Friday night’s game will be available in the Oct. 7 issue of the Sullivan Independent News.
