The Sullivan Area Chamber of Commerce is now in the process of compiling a list of businesses wishing to participate in the Sullivan Spooktacular.
Scheduled for Fri., Oct. 30, the Spooktacular offers area youths the opportunity to enjoy safe conditions for their trick-or-treating.
Businesses that wish to participate will be provided with an orange paper pumpkin to place in their window to alert little ghosts and goblins that you have treats inside for them. You then simply take the pumpkin down when you are out of treats or closing.
The Spooktacular is scheduled from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 30. The Sullivan Parks and Recreation Dept. will be hosting their annual Spooktacular Egg Hunt at 6:30 p.m. at the Campbell-Chapman ball complex. A costume contest will start the festivities.
The chamber would like to express their appreciation to all past participating businesses as well as the Sullivan Independent News, Sullivan Journal, KTUI Radio and Fidelity Channel 6 for their media coverage.
For a complete list of the businesses participating in the 2009 Sullivan Spooktacular, check the Oct. 21 issue of the Independent News and Sullivan Journal or stop in at the Chamber of Commerce office. Lists will be sent home with all primary and elementary students in the Sullivan area during the week of Oct. 26.
To be included on the 1,300 flyers and in the newspapers’ listing, businesses must contact the chamber before 12 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 16.
