BODIE, TIGHE AND COOPER BOMBACH, along with Anne-Marie Tucker are inspecting the rock strata at the bottom of the cut.

PICTURED FROM THE TOP DOWN: Bodie Bombach, Jacob Tucker, Tighe Bombach and Nash Bombach are climbing the rock cut to inspect the strata towards the top.
The students and their teacher from the Bourbon Seventh-day Adventist School recently took a trip to a road cut outside of Rolla to study some of the geological formations found in Missouri. The students were able to observe the various strata of rock found in the area, as well as some of the different rocks and minerals located there.
We saw where the rock was drilled.
Tighe Bombach,

I found “fool’s gold” when we were there and I learned that liquid went through the rocks and made quartz.
Anne-Marie Tucker,
grade 3
I found some neat rocks and I learned about how the water worked on the rocks.
Cooper Bombach,
grade 4
Our teacher showed us many rocks at the “diggings.” It was fun.
Jacob Tucker,

We saw some drill markers and we got to climb the rocks.
Bodie Bombach,
