The Sullivan Police Department responded to a reported shooting at 1246 Bill St., off Falcon Drive. Upon officers arrival it was learned that  eight-year-old Ryan S. Fetters was taken to Missouri Baptist Hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the abdomen area.
The Investigation revealed that Fetter was playing in the driveway of the residence when he was struck by a bullet. Witnesses advised they had heard gunshots in the surrounding area near the subdivision much of the evening.
Fetters was airlifted from Missouri Baptist Hospital to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. As of 11 p.m. Fetters was out of surgery and in intensive care.
