Why this tournament is so important to the family: Over the past seven years, because of your generosity, they have been able to present to the American Cancer Society over $112,000 and they would not have been able to do this without you.
Josh Kaufman was diagnosed with Leukemia in 1999 at the age of 20. He was a fighter, even when things got really bad, he never gave up. He loved life so much. Unfortunately, Leukemia was stronger than Josh and, on Dec. 27, 2001, Josh lost his battle with the disease.
They have met many special individuals along the journey that have battled many different types of cancer. Each and every one of them is brave beyond their years. They all teach us valuable lessons in life, to love one another and never take each other for granted. Josh taught them that it is the little things that count and to enjoy each day like it was the last.
The Josh Kaufman Tournament not only gives his family an opportunity to honor Josh, but also to honor the many special individuals that have battled cancer, or are battling it now. Paying tribute to their courage and, with the proceeds of the tournament, they hope to assist in finding that cure.
Teams of four, hole sponsors and raffle items are needed to help make this tournament a success. Food, fun and fellowship are provided for the participants.
Please join them on Sept. 18 at the Sullivan Country Club. Help them continue to assist with their battle against cancer.
