City clerk Cathy Bremer made three announcements from closed session at the board meeting on Tuesday night.
Alderman Mark Hilse motioned to hire Jamie McCane as a full-time police officer, with a six-month probationary period at a rate of $10 per hour. Alderman Byrd seconded the motion and it passed unanimously through roll call.
The board accepted the verbal resignation of police officer Beau Reichenbach.
One issue regarding litigation was discussed with city attorney Robert Davis, but no official action was taken.
