Dear Editor,
When the courts deem there is no way to rehabilitate a man or woman, they should be sentenced to the true death penalty, not the generic version of Life Without Parole (L.W.O.P.).
The taxpayers are going to pay well over a million dollars for me to have a bed, food, and health care for 40-50 years; and yet no matter what kind of person I become in that time, the investment is for nothing because I am sentenced to die in prison. Only instead of using a needle to kill me, the state is using time; same ends just different means.
L.W.O.P. should be abolished; some humans have the ability to change. I am not the same person I was 16 years ago. Are you the same person you were 16-20 years ago?
Contact your State Legislature and let them know how you feel about your tax dollars being wasted.
