Franklin County Deputies are currently investigating a suspicious person case that was possibly an attempted abduction.  On August 9, deputies responded to a residence located outside Sullivan on Christine Lane.  Witnesses at the residence stated that an 8-year old female reported to them that she had been playing in the yard near the road.  She stated that a subject pulled up beside her and tried to coax her in to the vehicle.  She refused and ran back to the residence.  Witnesses observed the vehicle drive off as the girl was arriving at the residence.

The victim stated that the subject was wearing a red hat that was on backwards.  He was identified as an older gentleman wearing baggy pants and gray shirt.  The vehicle was described as a large black SUV, with chrome rims and tinted windows.  It left the area toward Sullivan.  Anyone experiencing a similar incident or with possible identity of the vehicle or suspect are requested to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 636-583-2560 or Sullivan Police.
