The Sullivan City Council was set to meet for their first meeting in August on Tuesday night.
A brief agenda was to be discussed with no requests or petitions from city residents or organizations.
The council was expected to approve meeting minutes from July 21, July 23 and July 29 special meetings, along with standing committee reports from the Planning and Zoning Commission, Cultural Grant and Airport Boards.
One ordinance was before the council for approval. Ordinance 3352, sponsored by Alderman Dennis Watz, would make it a city misdemeanor to park a motor vehicle on a private parking lot or a private street without the consent of the owner. The owner would need to properly post these places with a sign 18”x24” referencing this section of City Code.
The ordinance was suggested for approval following complaints by private property owners in regards to large trucks parking on private property.
The council was also expected to host a closed session meeting on litigation, real estate and personnel.
