St. John’s Mercy Hospital To Host Community Blood Drives

St. John’s Mercy Hospital works with area schools, churches, businesses and other organizations to collect life-saving blood products from generous donors. Donations provide life support for patients at St. John’s Mercy.
Upcoming events include:
*Washington School of Practical Nursing “Summer Hero Blood Drive” from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tues., July 14, in the Practical Nursing Classroom at Four Rivers Career Center, 1978 Image Dr. in Washington. All presenting donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt. For questions regarding medical eligibility, please call 1-866-37DONOR.
*St. Clair Community Blood Drive, hosted by St. Clair Elks, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Mon., July 20, at the St. Clair Elks Lodge, 35 E. North St. in St. Clair. All presenting donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt. For questions regarding medical eligibility, please call 1-866-37DONOR.
*Co-Worker and Community Blood Drive from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wed., July 22 and Thurs., July 23 in Suite 100 of the St. John’s Mercy Medical Building, 851 E. Fifth St. in Washington. All presenting donors will be entered into a drawing to win one of two $25 gas cards. For an appointment, please visit www.donateblood.mercy.net. For more information, please call 636-239-8751. All presenting donors will receive a complimentary T-shirt.
* Washington Community Blood Drive, hosted by the Washington Rotarians,  from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wed., July 29 and Thurs., July 30 in Suite 100 of the St. John’s Mercy Medical Building, 851 E. Fifth St. in Washington. For questions or appointments, please call 636-239-8751. All presenting donors will receive a complimentary blue T-shirt!
Donors must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with permission from a parent or legal guardian, and no older than 78 years of age. They must be at least 110 pounds and in good health. All donors should allow eight weeks between donations.
St. John’s Mercy Blood Donor Services is the only mobile, hospital-based, blood collection center in the state of Missouri. Being mobile means bringing services to peoples’ places of business, worship or school.
The service allows the hospital to collect life-saving blood supplies from the community, for the community at a portion of the cost. To host a community blood drive at your school, business, organization or place of worship, please call 1-866-37DONOR.
