Members of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 81 of Bourbon met at the Community Center on June 30 for their regular monthly meeting.  New members, Carol Busse, Delores Phinney, Bertha Gargus and Dixie Dehn, were welcomed. Dehn has transferred to Unit 81 from her former Unit in Washington, MO.
The ladies discussed the progress of the Patriotic quilt being made by President Eunice Ditterline and Kathy Protte. It is almost completed and will be on display soon.  All profits from the quilt will be donated to the American Legion Post for their projects.
Auxiliary Unit 81 plans to have a float in the Bourbon Booster Fall Festival in September and will also participate in the festival in other ways.
The Auxiliary sponsored Bloodmobile visit will be on July 20 at the United Methodist Church basement from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.  All are encouraged to give blood, if possible. Summertime needs are always high and each pint has the potential of saving three lives.
The election of officers was held and Eunice will retain her position of President. Darlene Enloe is 1st Vice President; with Barbara Courtouise as 2nd Vice President. Alice Bremer will continue as Secretary and Elaine Steuernagel will be Treasurer. Roxanne Lafferty was elected Historian and Dixie Dehn as Sgt. of Arms. The Chaplain will be Bertha Gargus. Installation of these officers will be at the August meeting.
The meeting closed with prayer led by Carolyn Isgriggs.
