ses-summer-schoolcolorSullivan Elementary summer school classes went to Maramec Springs in St. James on Fri., June 12. Each group had a tour of the Agriculture Museum. Students were amazed to see items from days past. One very interesting exhibit was called “Grandma’s Kitchen.” ses-school-fishingcolorAnother rotation was the Maramec Museum that displayed miniature scenes from the St. James area where iron ore was mined and melted in a huge furnace. That outside furnace still stands today.
Two of the best activities were the touring of the spring and the feeding of the trout. Pictured are a group of students at the spring and another of several students feeding the fish.
We had a wonderful day enjoying our picnic lunches and spending a beautiful day of learning and adventure at Maramec Springs.
