Located behind Mobil On-The-Run and the Bourbon RV Center, It’s New To Me held their grand opening last week.
The resale shop is owned by Bill and Debbie Setzer. Debbie had a resale shop in the city for many years and worked with her mother. Bill has been in construction for over 30 years.
“There is a lot of work to keep a nice shop with nice things. Thanks to Cassie and Donna, I am able to do this,” said Debbie.
The resale shop carries men, women and children’s clothing and also has other  “odds and ends.”
For their grand opening, It’s New To Me had customers bring in four canned goods that would be given to the Bourbon Christian Thrift Store and Food Pantry. In return, the customer would receive 25 percent off their total sale. Debbie accepted donations to the food pantry even if customers did not purchase anything.
The hours for It’s New To Me are on Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Linda Lawrence’s My Hair Shop also had their grand opening last week. Lawrence is the owner-stylist and the previous owner of Lawrence Realty and Tangles Hair Salon in Sullivan. She cut hair for several years at the Flying J Truck Stop and has experience in cutting hair for men, women and children.
My Hair Shop is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday, the shop will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. On Friday, it will be open from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
For her grand opening, Lawrence had customers bring in a can for the food pantry that would get $2 off their haircut.
My Hair Shop is located at 507 Old Highway 66 in Bourbon, across from Mattox Auto Repair. Lawrence can be reached at 573-259-5423 or 732-4567.
The two businesses combined their grand opening promotions with Blazer’s Pub and Grill. Richard Burnett, owner of the local bar, is taking canned food for the food pantry and entering customers in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate.
